The city suburbs have a wide mix of house types and boundary lengths, so no two gardens are quite alike. We work from Stourport-on-Severn and cover the West Midlands. Tell us what you want from your garden and we will get back to you.
Screens that suit how you use the garden
Think about where you actually sit. A seating area that is overlooked may only need a slatted or horizontal screen on one side, not a full tall fence around the whole garden. This keeps the rest of the space open and saves on materials.
Horizontal boards have a clean, modern look, and the gaps between them can be set to let air and a little light through. They are fixed to strong posts so they stay level. For a fully solid screen, a trellis top can soften the height.
A safe space for children and pets
For a garden where children play or a dog is let out, the fence has to be secure at the bottom as well as the top. We set gravel boards snug to the ground, check for gaps at corners and fit gates with latches that close firmly on their own.
Wolverhampton gardens with a front lawn sometimes want a lower edge too. A picket fence marks the boundary neatly and keeps a young child or a pet from wandering onto the pavement, while still looking friendly from the road.
Fitting around sheds, patios and plants
Real gardens are full of things: a shed in the corner, decking along the house, a patio, borders and climbers. We plan posts and panels around them and take care when working close to plants. In WV postcodes we also work in Tettenhall, Bilston, Willenhall and Penn, so ask about your own garden.
Questions about fencing in Wolverhampton
Can you work around plants and climbers?
Yes. We try to protect mature borders and climbers, and we will tell you if something has to be cut back or moved to fit a post. Please point out anything important to you before we begin.
Is a slatted fence private enough?
It depends on the gap between the boards. Tightly set slats give good cover, while wider gaps let more light and air through. We can talk through the spacing and height so the screen suits where you sit.
Can you add trellis to an existing fence?
Often, yes, if the posts are strong enough to carry the extra height and wind load. We check the posts first. If they are weak, we will explain whether it is better to replace the run before adding trellis.
